Wrapping Up 2025: Feral from Marvel Legends Series by Hasbro

It's February 2026 and I'm winding down my "Wrapping Up 2025" reviews. I haven't been on YouTube in a bit but on Monday evening, 8pm EST I plan to do a live even of my first set of awards for the best of 2025: My Top Ten Toylines. Join me on Action Figure Barbecue on YouTube then!

I've been collecting X-Men (and all of their subsidiaries like X-Force, X-Factor, etc.) toys on and off since I was in grade school. It's always been fun and the major companies like Toy Biz, Diamond Select Toys, and Hasbro have typically done a pretty swell job of making sure there was a diverse roster of mutants available for purchase. In the past 10 years, however, Hasbro has been on an insane streak of knocking huge chunks out of most Marvel Legends X-Men wish lists. Over the past 3 or 4 years they've been really focusing on finishing some important teams and groups. While I'm still excited to keep collecting (as I have my ever changing wish list like everyone else), the last series of the "minicomic" figures delivered Feral and Rachel Summers, two major missing characters and part of one of my own personal collecting benchmarks: Getting every character depicted on Jim Lee and Scott Williams' 1992 X-Men door poster in action figure form. I've had a smaller version of this on the door of my study for quite a few years and when I finally got a smartphone in 2024 I made it my wallpaper. It's certainly not all encompassing of the X-Men universe or anything, nor does it even have the villains, but it's just such a darn good image. I'm excited to have Feral in my collection to complete the original X-Force lineup. ready to check out Maria Callasantos, the ferocious Feral? Then join me after the break...

The Positives:

* Feral is bright, bold, and really does stand out. I think some people are going to love her and some are going to hate her for one reason: She's not furry all over and Hasbro has largely utilized molding her in different colored plastics rather than paint to carry the weight of most colors. One of the things I like best about Marvel Legends is that they're usually bright, bold, and they have kind of that "house style" appearance that makes them look like the "licensing" art versions of a character. They look good together. Feral looks like Feral, particularly the early 1990s X-Force Feral. She's colorful and manages to look both feline and human at once. Some people are going to want her to have more hair and I can't blame them; that is how more recent artists have portrayed her. I think this figure does a great job of looking like an X-Force #1 version of the character, though, and I'm all for that.

* The head is crazy. She really looks feral! I can just see Wolverine being jealous of her hairstyle, can't you? While I do wish she had come with two portraits with one being a bit more neutral, this one does fit the character quite well. She looks ready to rip someone up. The paint and face printing are solid and you just get the impression that if you asked her if she was on her way to a Cats audition or cracked a ThunderCats Joke, you'd find yourself with a bad case of cat scratch fever.

* Here's a look from the side so you can see how crazy her hair and ears are. She's also sporting tufts of fur on the sides of her head that look like sideburns. Wild.

* Feral shares quite a few parts with Tigra, so she does have some spots with tufts of fur, particularly on her forearms, elbows, and shoulders. There is a little bit of paint highlight on those spots as well, giving them a bit of texture.

* Feral's tail comes out from a hole on the back of her outfit and can swivel to add to her expressions and aid her in balancing.

* She's also sporting some furry feet and sharp claws, also parts she shares with Tigra. These also get just a hint of paint to bring out the extra tufts of fur.

* Feral's articulation is quite good and she can even take some decent crouching poses. I don't think you can get her into every catlike pose that you might want to, but she's not a $100 dollar import or anything; she's a mass market figure. That being said, I think she's a lot of fun to pose. She's sleek, svelte, and most of her joints have an impressive range of motion. Her hips could have a bit more range, but I'm quite happy. She's sturdy enough that a kid that somehow ended up with her would probably just fine with her, too.

* Four swappable hands are included: A pair of hands with sharper nails that look like they're ready to swipe and slash and a pair of fists for punching. They swap easily and are molded in the same color of purple as Feral's costume.

* Hasbro has been doing these Marvel Legends Series waves that include a minicomic. Not a minicomic you can actually read but simply a little comic book accessory. The book is about 1.25 inches by a little over .75 inches and features a very cleanly printed front and back image of the cover to X-Force #1. Some people hate these and while they don't make up for a Build-a-Figure, they are neat little extras when they're a cover as recognizable as this one. They're fun to have laying around a character like Deadpool or something.

The Negatives:

* As I mentioned above, I love the bright colors here and the way the look is kept very clean by molding so many of the elements of Feral's outfit in the appropriate color of plastic. That being said, while Feral doesn't look overly furry in her early appearances, I think she definitely needed to look a bit more animalistic. There are no fur details on her sides, chest, neck, biceps, or thighs. She's not just an orange lady; she is meant to be a cat person. Surely a female body with fur could have had some parts reused at some point in the near future *cough* Hepzibah *cough* for a much needed character.

I love how Feral looks on the shelf with the rest of X-Force. She's a great looking figure that stands out in that bright, bold way that the best Marvel Legends figures do. She's been a figure I've wanted for quite some time so there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to pick her up. She turned out well, though she feels a bit light at this new price point (just a set of hands and a comic book prop?), especially since there's a lot of reuse here that really could have features a fully new and furrier sculpt. Still, I like what's here and she gets a Great from me. I feel pretty good about Hasbro completing this X-Force lineup. I didn't do anything but by them, but I still feel a strange sense of accomplishment.
