I'm on a bit of a G.I. Joe: Classified Series review spree and today I'm checking out Carl "Doc" Greer, the original medic for the G.I. Joe team. Doc was a fairly prominent character in most of the various animated shows over the years and a memorable character in the original Marvel Comics run by Larry Hama. Doc's also often remembered for his death in Trucial Abysmia at the hands of a SAW Viper (hence all the comments at PulseCon about keeping the upcoming SAW Viper figure away from Doc), as he was killed alongside Crankcase, Heavy Metal, and Thunder. In the Classified Series, though? He's back and ready to keep saving lives and rescuing Joes when things get crazy. Doc shipped in the same case as Jinx, Torch, and the Night Creeper and he's been out for a good month or two. Ready to save the day with Doc? Then join me after the break...

Action Figure Review: Night Creeper from G.I. Joe: Classified Series by Hasbro
1988, 1989, and 1990 were some of the best years for action figures in the vintage G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line. I know there are quite a few "fans" who seem to have no memory of any figures past 1983, or 1985, or 1987, but Hasbro was still cranking out some really good figures during those years. It wasn't until 1991 that some of the sub-teams started to get a bit iffy (Eco Warriors and Air Commandos) and the basic figures started to have more neon that didn't fit in with the figures. 1990 has some great concepts and the accessories were incredible, far superior to what had come before. I didn't have all of the 1991 figures (I had eight basics and about half of the Sky Patrol), but Night Creeper was definitely one that I had. These guys seemed awesome. Yeah, they're ninjas, but they're ninja armed with the most high-tech gear available. I love these guys and I'm definitely convinced this is the best version since the original (though I do really like the 2003 version with the SCUBA gear). Ready for a look at the stealthy Night Creeper? Then join me after the break...

Action Figure Review: Sportsmaster (DC Classic) from DC Multiverse by McFarlane Toys
Over the past two or three months I have purchased so many new DC Multiverse figures! The Toddfather has put out quite a few figures that have interested me (meaning Batman related heroes and villains, along with some general oddballs), so I've ended up with lots of new figures on my shelf. I don't review every DC Multiverse figure I get because sometimes I run out of things to say about characters like Batman and the Joker who I've reviewed dozens and dozens of times. When there's a newer or less common character, though, it's just more fun to review them. Today I'm checking out Sportsmaster, a sports themed villain who has fought the original Green Lantern (Alan Scott), Wildcat, Batgirl, Robin, and Harley Quinn. He's not really a Batman villain but due to his presence in Gotham and partnership with the Clock King, I'm lumping him in there. Mattel released a Sportsmaster in their Young Justice line over a decade ago which has a very animated and stylized appearance. This figure really feels like an update of that one as his costume is pretty similar to his look in Young Justice. Sportsmaster is a "Platinum" release from McFarlane, meaning he's something of a chase figure. Most McFarlane Toys Platinum releases are a variant of another figure in the same series but Sportsmaster isn't; he's just a regular figure. Ready to check out Lawrence "Crusher" Crock? Action Figure Review: Kalian Shunn from Cosmic Legions by Four Horsemen Studios
Back in July Four Horsemen Studios and their authorized retailers ran a special sale where all Cosmic Legions figures were 20% off. During that sale I managed to grab a few of the older figures I didn't have yet and catch up on the newest series, Outpost Zaxxius. Kalian Shunn was one of the figures I picked up and is probably one of my favorite Cosmic Legions figures of the year. Kalian Shunn (Kalie for short) is a bodyguard for the AEXOR3 company who keeps her real identity hidden. For a sci-fi themed character, Kalian Shunn checks so many boxes for me: She's wearing a cool helmet with some sort of display visor, she's wearing random bits of armor, and she's using both a blaster and a melee weapon. Oh, and she has a cool hooded cloak. I'm loving this outfit! Let's check out Kalian Shunn after the break...

Spooky Season: Rhonda from Trick 'r Treat Figural Bag Clips by Monogram International
A weekend or two ago my wife and I took a daytrip to check out one of the Spirit stores within an hour or two of us and I ended up bringing home some really nifty Trick 'r Treat Figural Bag Clips from Monogram International. I've reviewed most of their Masters of the Universe bag clips in the past though I think this is the first time that I've reviewed one from another property. I really love how Trick 'r Treat has become such a staple of the Halloween season and Spirit stores are always a good place to find a Trick 'r Treat item or two. While Sam is always the most popular character, it's kin of fun how these bag clips offer up a more diverse range of characters and items from the film. Today I'm checking out Rhonda, posed in the elevator carriage while holding a jack o' lantern to keep her safe from the angry victims of the Halloween School Bus Massacre. Trick 'r Treat has so many interesting characters who we only get to see for such a short time and Rhonda (played by Samm Todd) has always been one of my favorites. The victim of a cruel bank by some classmates, Rhonda is nuts about Halloween and jack o' lanterns and and is one of those who treats the holiday with the proper respect. The kids in the film use some offensive and outdated terms to refer to her, but it seems that she has savant syndrome and may be on the autism spectrum. I really like Rhonda in the movie and this was possibly the main figure I wanted from the set. Fortunately, the huge elevator carriage makes this an easier one to track down inside of the blind bags. Action Figure Review: Kim "Jinx" Arashikage from G.I. Joe: Classified Series by Hasbro
This summer was pretty filled with new G.I. Joe: Classified Series and I'm still making my way through them. Today I'm checking out Jinx, another new figure from the single packed main series. Well, Kim "Jinx" Arashikage, to be exact. You see, she's Storm Shadow's cousin and part of the Arashikage clan. I had the vintage Jinx as a kid (still do, too), but I actually prefer some of her later costumes like the Sigma 6, Valor Vs. Venom, and G.I. Joe: Retaliation versions. This one borrows pretty heavily from the vintage toy, sure, but we do get a couple new elements and some details brought over from other incarnations, so she's not just a straight up vintage rehash. Ready to kick it with Jinx? Then join me after the break...

Statue Review: Deadpool (The New Mutants #98) from Marvel by McFarlane Toys
It was quite a surprise a few months back when McFarlane Toys announced they would be releasing a series of 1/6th and 1/10th scale Marvel statues and while I initially thought they would be something pretty easy to pass up for me, I did change my mind when I saw this statue of Deadpool on the shelf at GameStop. I've always loved the look of Deadpool and loved my Toy Biz Deadpool as a kid, so seeing this statue based on Wade Wilson's first appearance from the cover of The New Mutants #98 by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, I was quite intrigued. McFarlane isn't putting out "high end" statues; this guy cost me a little under $30 dollars with my GameStop pro discount and is more like a "staction" figure than a statue made from a fragile material. Is there a market for these? The first series is all heavy hitters (a 1/6th scale Captain America and Spider-Man and 1/10th scale Deadpool, Wolverine, Iron Man, and Spidey) and they're all quite affordable, so that ought to help move these. With Deadpool and Wolverine being the hottest of hits right now, let's give Deadpool a bit of a tribute and check out a statue based on his first appearance. Join me after the break...
