The Curse of 31 Days of Toy Terror: Elvira, Mistress of the Dark from Rock Candy by Funko

Today for The Curse of 31 Days of Toy Terror we're getting a visit from the horror hostess with the mostess: The enchanting Elvira, Mistress of the Dark! Elvira is one of my favorites and she's made her way into 31 Days of Toy Terror three times now! This year Elvira comes in the from of a Rock Candy vinyl collectible from Funko. I really like the Rock Candy line although I do only own three other figures. Rock Candy certainly doesn't see as many releases as POP! but it seems to have a decent following. She was just released this October so she's a new release for Elvira collectors. Let's check her out after the break...

 The Facts:

Height: 5 1/2 inches

Articulation: None

Accessories: Display base

Non-Scalper Price: None
 The Positives:

* This is a great rendition of Elvira! The Rock Candy style looks perfect here. The colors (well, black and white with a lot of makeup) and the sculpting are excellent. I'm really happy with the overall style of this figure!

* The poses is pretty slick, too. I like the positioning of Elvira's hands. It's a fun and sassy gesture that really works for the character.

* Elvira's face and hair are perfect! Her hairstyle is perfectly captured and the face really does look like a stylized version of Cassandra Peterson. The paintwork on her makeup is excellent. I love the clean work here.

* If you look at the hem of Elvira's dress you'll see lots of holes and a tattered appearance. It's very stylized too but it looks good and makes for a fun detail.

 * Elvira has her trademark dagger on her belt. It looks excellent to the naked eye and, even up close, you can see that the paint applications are very clean.

* Elvira includes a clear plastic stand to help her stand on display. It's not completely necessary but it definitely helps to keep her more steady and secure. I'm always glad to get something like this with a figure or mini-statue.

For $10 dollars, I'm of the opinion that this is an Epic collectible. It's not often that we see Elvira collectibles and it's nice to have one as well done as this. The style of the Rock Candy line meshes really well with the Elvira character. It's fun, flirty, and just a little bit spooky. I'm a fan and will be glad to display this with my other Elvira stuff.

I've reviewed a couple of other Elvira collectibles: The Elvira (Witch Variant) figure from 1998's Elvira, Mistress of the Dark line by Figures Toy Co. and the Elvira Funko POP! #375.
