Earlier me and my 2 year old daughter, Alamena Diane Pie (ADP for short) reviewed Apple Bloom from Funko's My Little Pony Vinyl Collectibles line. Now we're on to the second of the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Scootaloo. Like Scootaloo, my little daughter also is obsessed with Rainbow Dash. She has plenty of Rainbow Dash clothes, a hat, a pillow, a toy Rainbow Dash bus, and a stuffed Dash that she sleeps with every night. You know, along with the 22 other stuffed animals that fill her crib. When she goes to bed in her crib, it reminds me of that scene in the IT Crowd where Moss gets stuck in the claw machine. Anyways, we're ready to jump into our review of Scootaloo are you?
The Facts:
Height: 4 1/2 inches(with main)
Articulation: None
Accessories: None
Non-Scalper Price: $18.50 (Keep an eye out for buy one get one 1/2 off deals at Hot Topic, though.)
The Positives:
Here is a transcription of our review session. All quotes are attributed to ADP unless otherwise noted:
* Gasps* "Schoodoo!!! Daddy, daddy, daddy!" *Points at MLP logo on front right paw's bottom.* "Schoodoo (she says this 12 times). *Scootaloo is sitting on my lap, then Scootaloo is taken to the play farm and proceeds to eat the crops. Then she goes down the slide at the play schoolhouse* "Daddy! (x 10)"
*Scootaloo is left at the school* "Bye bye!" *Now a Little People Tramp figure is pulled out of the toybox and receives a number of kisses. "Apple Bloom? Apple Bloom?"
*Now she is running around the room yelling "Scootaloo!"
The Negatives:
*I point out the small molding defects on the figure and ask "What do you think about that"?"* *ADP examines the figure then runs off with Scootaloo to read a book. Now she is requesting "Different toy! Different book! Scootaloo!"
*I ask: "Is there anything you don't like about Scootaloo?" *ADP Responds: "No."*
*Scootaloo falls off the couch we're sitting on.* "Uh-oh!"
Scootaloo is a pretty funny character in the show and she's probably my favorite of the Cutie Mark Crusaders. While they might be a bit overpriced for what you get, these are definitely the coolest MLP collectibles out there. Funko is much more concerned with accuracy than Hasbro is and they've also done a much better job of releasing a wide range of characters in a variety of sizes. I love Scootaloo's look and feel confident in giving her a Great rating. ADP, what about you?
ADP's rating: "Schoodoo book! Schoodoo book!"
