31 Days of Toy Terror Lives: Paige from WWE Zombies by Mattel

Whose ready for another WWE Zombies review? I know I am! Today I'm looking at one of my favorite WWE Superstars Paige. Well, she's a WWE Superstar as of this writing, anyways (to keep to the 31 Days of Toy Terror schedule I started writing some of these reviews as early as July), but since the WWE has recently released her boyfriend Alberto Del Rio the rumors are flying that she might be leaving, too. It seems like the WWE has tried to bury her over the past few months. Thanks to Mattel, though, Paige has risen from the dead. Yup, Paige is the lone member of the women's division in the WWE Zombies line and was the figure that took me the longest to find. Of course, that wasn't that long as this line seems to have really good distribution. Ready for a look at another undead wrassler? Then join me after the break...

 The Facts:

Height: 6 1/2 inches

Articulation: Hinged ankles, boot swivels, hinged knees, swivel thighs, ball-jointed hips, waist swivel, ball-jointed mid-torso, swivel/hinge shoulders, swivel biceps, hinged elbows, swivel wrists, and a ball-jointed head.

Accessories: None

Non-Scalper Price: $12-$13 dollars
 The Positives:

* While Mattel has a different articulation for their Basic and Elite male superstars, the women all have the same model and it's much closer to the Elite model, so you're effectively getting an Elite version of Zombie Paige here. She feels really solid, even on her thinner arms. I've often felt like the arms were weak on the female figures but Paige seems much sturdier.

 * This is a really creepy headsculpt! It's very clearly Paige but the soulless white eyes and blood streaked chin give away that something isn't right. I like the use of purple around the eyes, too. It's a very Paige look while still being very zombie-like.

 * Paige's legs have lots of chinks of missing flesh as well as some dried blood.

* Check out this nasty wound on the side of her right calve. If you ask me, this looks like the original wound that caused Paige to turn into a zombie. Not only is the sculpted wound really gruesome but it's also filthy. There's a lot of dirt and grease covering the exposed skin which you know is just not sanitary.

* Like the other figures in the series, Paige's boots also have a fine detailing of drybrushed mud on them. It looks good and gives more character to the figure. She looks like she just walked out of a haunted house, probably screaming something like "This is my house!" I'm really going to miss Paige if she doesn't stick around the WWE.

* When I first picked up this figure, my wife joked that she couldn't see a difference between it and the standard Paige. Get it? Because Paige has really pale skin. Actually, it is pretty cool that Mattel retained a very pale white skin color for Paige while everyone else seems to be shades of green and grey. The all white skin is very striking and really helps her to stand out from the crowd.
The Negatives:

* It's really tough to see but there's something wrong with Paige's right ankle. It looks like it's a bit warped, but not intentionally warped so she looks more zombie like. This seems to be a straight up QC issue and it makes her a little more difficult to stand up unaided.

WWE Zombies have really proven to be one of the premiere treats for the 2016 Halloween season and Paige is another outstanding entry in the series. While she doesn't come with any accessories she does have the Elite styled articulation, which is a pretty welcome trade off. I love her bright white skin! She's really fun and a Great and a 1/2 figure. These are too much fun and even if you hate wrestling, you still need to check these out.  If you care at all about zombie related toys, these should give you something to celebrate.

  1. I hate that Paige has really gone out of the picture. I was really digging her before her injury and recent questionable decisions. Either way, she's perfect for a zombie figure!

    1. Yeah, I've been a huge Paige fan, too. Did you read anything about her proposal to Alberto del Rio? What the heck is going on there?

    2. Yeah, I did see that. I saw another headline about his wife's lawyers coming forward saying he is still actually married. I decided not to click on it. I've gotten tired of their nonsense. Seems to me like Paige is on a downward spiral of very dumb things. I'll be surprised if they give her the chance to comeback once her latest suspension is up.
