It's time for another Bombshells review! I'm making my way through this series and today I'm looking at Gotham City's most infamous botanist, Dr. Pamela Isley, AKA Poison Ivy. You know, how crazy is Gotham City that they have evil botanists. You know what? I can top that: There is also the Floronic Man. Gotham City has more than one evil botanist. That's insane. Gotham is a crazy place. No wonder DC's trying to show off it's better side through a fun project like Bombshells! Let's take a closer look at Poison Ivy after the break...
The Facts:
Height: 3 inches
Articulation: None
Accessories: Tin storage container
Non-Scalper Price: $10 dollars
* Poison Ivy has a perfect Bombshells look, doesn't she? The bright red hair with a flower and those curls, the big eyelashes, and the floral one piece bathing suit really just capture the art style perfectly. There wasn't much that has to be changed for Ivy as, other than the hair, this is a pretty normal look for her. Still, would you want Ivy to not be included in any line? I'm glad she's here! The sculpt is quite nice and the paintwork is absolutely neat, clean, and lovely.
* I love the vines snaking around her legs. It just gives Poison Ivy a bit more pizazz (not that she would have been dull without them). I'm a huge fan of the green-skinned look for Ivy and I'm glad the Bombshells series went with it.
* I don't usually talk much about price when it comes to toys. I do want
to mention here, though, that these seem to be around $10 which seems a
couple of dollars too high, especially for a blind-bagged series. Well,
blind canned. Yeah, these actually come in little tins with removable
lids. It's a cool gimmick although I imagine it's what is adding the
extra few bucks to the line. The tin is quite nice, though, and looks
good on display with the figure. There's even a checklist on the back.
Poison Ivy's another Lil Bombshells figure I'd but in one of the top tiers. She colorful, gorgeously sculpted, and quite fun. I'm giving her a Great rating and I'm happy to add her to the collection!
I've reviewed a few other Poison Ivy figures on this site, including the Lego Arkham Asylum Breakout set which comes with an Ivy minifigure, the DC Super Hero Girls Poison Ivy, the DC Universe Signature Collection Poison Ivy, and the DC Collectibles New 52 Poison Ivy.
