Minifigure Review: Jake Roberts, Ultimate Warrior, & Junkyard Dog from M.U.S.C.L.E.: WWE by Super7

A year or so ago Super7 showed off these very cool classic WWF WWE minifigures from their M.U.S.C.L.E. revival. It's been a long time with little to no information but last month they popped up as exclusives as Ringside Collectibles. There are four packs of these guys and each set is filled with three figures of some of the biggest Superstars of the 1980s and early 1990s. The first set includes Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Ultimate Warrior, and Junkyard Dog. It's pretty cool to have actual WWE Superstars in the M.U.S.C.L.E. style since the original M.U.S.C.L.E. figures appeared during the then WWF's massive surge of popularity in the mid 1980s. Let's check out these three small sports entertainers after the break...

 The Facts:

 Height: 1 3/4ths to 1 7/8ths inches

Includes: 3 figures

Non-Scalper Price: $6 dollars
 Jake Roberts

* First up is Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Jake "The Snake" is definitely one of the first professional wrestlers I remember ever being familiar with, probably thanks to his gimmick of using his python, Damien, in the ring. I'm glad that Damien is represented alongside of Roberts, who is quite recognizable here. The double open handed pose is quite traditional M.U.S.C.L.E., too. These guys definitely have the look of the vintage line for the most part, though they're a bit firmer.
 Ultimate Warrior

* The Ultimate Warrior is another legend of the WWE who sadly passed away shortly after reappearing in the WWE just days after Wrestlemania XXX, where he was inducted into the Hall of Fame. I love this figure as it definitely captures the Warrior's over the top persona and charsima. The pumping fist is excellent and the presence of the tassels just adds to the appeal. The detail is really quite crisp on these figures and brings out the sculpt quite well.
 Junkyard Dog

* Another mid 1980s WWE Superstar, Junkyard Dog is recognizable due to his unique facial hair and the large chain around his neck. He's a good figure although I will admit that I'm less familiar with him than I am the other two in the set. Sadly, Junkyard Dog passed away in 1998 in an automobile accident, though he was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
These are really cool minifigures! There really is just something undeniably cool about having these WWE Legends in the scale and style of the legendary M.U.S.C.L.E. line. M.U.S.C.L.E. has long been one of my favorite toylines and it's cool to add some real life wrestlers in. Ultimate Warrior is my favorite in this set but Junkyard Dog and Jake "The Snake" Roberts are quite good, too. For around $2 bucks a figure, these are some of the best minifigures of the year. I really hope we get another series down the road or even some M.U.S.C.L.E. figures from the Attitude Era. Those would sell like hotcakes. Or pie.

  1. These look great. The snake around Jake the snakes neck is perfect!I'm not big on wrestling.80's wrestling is a different story.I loved the characters ,cartoons and music cameos alot of them made back then. They should release more of these.

    1. These are definitely very, very 80s. Considering that Hulk Hogan appeared on Crown Jewel last weekend, maybe he is a possibility now for an upcoming set. It seems he and the WWE are back in a good relationship.
