Minifigure Review: Supergirl from DC Comics Lil Bombshells by Cryptozoic Entertainment

Today I'm checking out one of the A-list stars of the DC Comics Bombshells property: Supergirl! Supergirl was the second statue released in the Bombshells series (back in September of 2013) and has continued to be a major presence in the line, the comic series, and all other merchandising. In the comic series, Kara's Kryptonian pod lands in Russia rather than in the US, leaving her to initially be a hero of the Soviets. Let's take a quick look at this cool retro styled Supergirl after the break...

 The Facts:

Height: 3 inches

Articulation: None

Accessories: Metal storage tin

Non-Scalper Price: $10 dollars

* Supergirl is sporting a great sculpt, clean paintwork, and some impressive hair. What more could you ask for? Cryptozoic puts out some very impressive minifigures in this series and Supergirl is definitely one of the best figures in series 2. I love the style and how they chose to adapt Ant Lucia's art and Tim Miller's sculpting into a stylized minifigure.

* Supergirl's pose feels very fitting for the character. It's very triumphant and commanding. I particularly like the flowing cape blowing off to her right as it matches the flow of her hair.
* I'll give the same spiel about the price and the container that I gave with earlier figures in this line: I don't usually talk much about price but l feel the need to mention that for around $10, these seem a couple of dollars too high for a blind-bagged series. Well, blind canned. Yeah, these actually come in little tins with removable lids. It's a cool gimmick although I imagine it's what is adding the extra few bucks to the line. The tin is quite nice, though, and looks good on display with the figure. There's even a checklist on the back.

I know these are shorter reviews, but sometimes after reviewing a whole series of minifigures I sort of run out of things to say. While these are a bit more expensive than you usually pay for a figure in this scale, the quality is absolutely here. Supergirl is one of my favorites in this series due to the impressive work on her pose, paint, and hair. She's a Great minifigure and well worth tracking down for fans of the character.

For Supergirl, the only other reviews I've done are the single packed DC Nano Metalfigs Supergirl and the Pack B 5-figure set, as well as the the Supergirl from the DC Super Hero Girls Action Pack six figure set!
