Flick or Treat Episode #1: Halloween Kills

Hey everyone! My and my friend The Reel Brad have just posted the first episode of our new podcast Flick or Treat! What's Flick or Treat? It's a podcast dedicated solely to movies that take place at Halloween. There are plenty of horror movie podcasts out there but ours is strictly about movies set during the Halloween season so we're going to work really hard to keep up the Halloween vibe all year long.

In this episode we chat about Halloween Kills, Spawn toy and comics, the Dark Horse EC Comics collections, me coming in third place in a Halloween Haiku contest at HalloweenHorrorHaiku, and the 1962 Halloween Massacre urban legend.

You'll also get to hear Brad's impersonation of Todd McFarlane, me doing a terrible Donald Pleasance, and us butchering the names of half of the cast of Halloween Kills. It's a spooky good way to spend 1 hour and 54 minutes! Check it out and let me know what you think!

    1. Thanks! The plan is for each new episode to drop at the end of the month so the next episode should be at the very end of December.

  3. Great podcast. Listened to it while working from home today. So much fun. Liked the discussion about the history of EC comics. I ordered the Aftershock - After Dark comic book. That Dust to Dust story sounded awesome. And yes, we will be fact checking....just kidding. Great podcast. Looking forward to the next one.

    1. Thanks! And someone needs to fact check us. haha.

The plan is to put out each episode on the last day of the month. We haven't recorded December's yet. Probably while we're all on Christmas break.

  4. I just received the copy of After Dark and read Dust to Dust. Shorter than I expected but very cool. The rest of the stories look great too. I quickly flipped through it. Will read more when I have a few moments.

    1. Very cool. I might have to borrow Brad's at some point. I can't remember if we talked about the Valancourt book of Victorian Christmas Ghost Stories on the show or if that was something Brad and I talked about after we recorded but I picked it up and read it throughout December. If you like Victorian literature it was a good read (I do). I received the second volume for Christmas and will get around to it at some point, too.
