Action Figure Review: Skeletor from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe by Sonic/ C3

Wherever He-Man goes, Skeletor has to follow! I really like Skeletor in the Netflix CGI animated He-Man and the Masters of the Universe but, so far, we haven't received a really good figure of the character. Today I'm check out the Sonic Wacky Pack kids meal Skeletor toy from recent promotion and while he's not a great action figure or anything, he is a fun little toy with a really unusual look. Let's take a look at Skeletor after the break...

The Facts:

Height: 4 inches

Articulation: Swivel shoulders

Accessories: Havoc Staff

Non-Scalper Price: $1-$2 dollars

The Positives:

* Like He-Man and some of the She-Ra figures from 2 years ago, Skeletor is an articulated but stylized figure with minimal pant detail. He's still got some detail, though, and his outfit matches what we see on the show, just with fewer paint applications.

* I really dig the printed faces on these. Rather than having sculpted detail the face is a rather detailed print that looks pretty cool and gives the figure a unique look. I also like the weird purple hood. It's straight up, like something you'd see on a dwarf in a Disney film or Dungeons & Dragons or something.

* Skeletor comes with his Havoc Staff. It's a pretty decent sculpt and it's not hollow like the standard toy version based on the cartoon.

* The articulation is minimal, even less than on He-Man, but Skeletor still has arms that can swivel around a bit.

The Negatives:

* Not only is the wrist bracer on his right arm simply left blue like his skin but his usually yellow skeletal hand has also been left unpainted. Bummer.

This is definitely a fun, weird, and unique little version of Skeletor. He might not be the best toy out there but he is kind of cool in his own weird way. The things that really makes this figure are his funky gnome-like hood and the really detailed face print. He gets a Good from me. Not something worth paying much for or really hunting down but if you're near a Sonic and want something unique for your collection this is a cool little trinket that should cost you between $1-$2 bucks on its own or the cost of a kids meal. Would you like fries and a shake with your Skeletor?

I've reviewed so many toys of Keldor/ Skeletor that he has his own review archive. Check out Snake Mountain for all of my reviews of the Evil Lord of Destruction!
