For my money, last year's Saturday Night Live sketch of two random guys who look like Beavis and Butt-Head sitting in on an interview about the future of A.I. was one of the funniest things in 2024. Mikey Day, Ryan Gosling, and SNL's makeup team nailed the characters and watching Kenan Thompson seriously ask them questions while Heidi Gardner couldn't keep from laughing just made things all the better. It was such a goofy yet clever sketch and it definitely had my daughter asking me about Beavis and Butt-Head. I didn't watch a lot of Beavis and Butt-Head as a kid but I did see some episodes and they were such a pop culture juggernaut for a period that you couldn't avoid them. My wife and I ended up showing our daughter some clips of the show just for context and to talk about how controversial they were back in 90s when they debuted. I'm not really a huge fan of the characters but for Christmas my daughter bought me a Funko POP! of Beavis in his Burger World outfit holding up a dead rat. It's actually pretty funny and definitely an interesting addition to the collection. A few weeks ago we were at Needless Toys and Collectibles in Lincolnton, NC and she snuck up front and bought me this Butt-Head so Beavis wouldn't have to be alone. I thought it was a sweet gesture and decided I'd make sure to review this one. Ready to check out Butt-Head justifying why fast food restaurants need to pay higher wages to attract better candidates? The Positives:|
* The crude animation of Beavis and Butt-Head really does look like it's been captured well by Funko and the distinctive POP! aesthetic. I don't think everything works as a Funko POP! but these guys look really impressive and do capture the feel of the show. The extra large head is a real plus here and while the neck is significantly shorter than the animation, everything else looks fine, actually. Butt-Head's head rotates so you can pose him yucking it up with Beavis.

* The head is excellent. If it weren't for the POP! vinyl trademark all black eyes, this would look like a pretty normal styled Butt-Head figure. They've captured Butt-Head's trademark confused expression perfectly here and he's accurately showing too much gum due to the odd way he's holding his mouth. The burger world visor looks just fine and I love the microphone coming down from it. Oh, and Butt-Head has a distinctive nose. You don't always see stylized noses on Funko POP! vinyls but Butt-Head's nose is definitely part of his look and it's suitably large.
This is the first figure of Butt-Head I've reviewed on the site. For more POP! Television figures check out the following:
