Re-Halloween 2025: Michael Myers Candy Case from Universal Candy Cases by CandyRific

You know who didn't make an appearance during 31 Days of Toy Terror this year? Michael Myers! We've got to fix that so for both today and tomorrow expect the Shape to be at the front and center! Today I'm checking out a Michael Myers Candy Case from CandyRific. I remember back as a kid when you could find candy in some elaborate containers that were far more enjoyable than the candy itself. Some of my favorites were a Slimer candy container that I used with my Real Ghostbusters figures, a plastic Batmobile from the 1989 movie, a Sonic the Hedgehog figure with moveable arms, a Snoopy driving a green car, and one of those bubble gum beepers which I covered with stickers and carried my Spin Fighters around in. Want candy or a toy? Why not both? My mom found this somewhere and gave it to me as an early Halloween treat which makes it even more special. I have to admit that I feel pretty blessed to be in my early 40s and still have a mom who will by me Michael Myers themed items when she sees them. Thanks, mom! Anyway, this guy is sold loose like this with a cardboard tag attached to his head which also seals the candy compartment. I believe he's sold in a tray alongside a Chucky Candy Case with four of each character or in a special boxed two-pack of both characters. Since Universal distributed the film, they have the rights to Halloween 2 which is why you see so much merchandise from it. That's also why the merchandise usually goes out of its way to note that it's from Halloween 2. Did you not get enough candy on Halloween and need both some more sugar and another Michael Myers collectible? Then join me after the break...

The Facts:

Height: 4 inches

Articulation: Hinged door in back of head to store candy

Accessories: One packet of fruit flavored dextrose candy (not pictured because I already ate it).

Non-Scalper Price: $6 to $9 dollars

The Positives:

* You're really paying for the novelty item here rather than the tiny bag of candy so, fortunately, this is a pretty nifty little Michael Myers. He's got an oversized head and slightly exaggerated features but overall he's not really stylized or cutesy or anything. He's a solid figure with decent paintwork. Michael's wearing his coveralls which are very blue here like they appear on screen, although the Halloween 2 coveralls were actually "Spruce Green." It looks correct to the eye, though.

* Michael's head is a bit oversized and a little bit exaggerated, but it's actually not bad. I like the all black eyes (the devil's eyes!) and the just slightly pearlescent skin. It's actually a really solid take on the character.

* The hair looks right, too. It's a bit wild looking but not too crazy. Again, it just looks right to me.

* Another thing that I really appreciate about this figure is that he's wielding a knife. That's Michael's most famous weapon but so many of the toys that are technically based on Halloween 2 equip him with a hammer. The knife is just iconic, though, and makes this a good, solid take on the character that can work for just about any film.

* What lies in the mind of Michael Myers? You decide! The back of the head opens to reveal an empty space where the bag of included candy was kept. Once you can eat the candy, you can put whatever you want inside. More candy, a plastic skull, loose change; it's something of a psychological experiment.

* Since I no longer have the candy, here's the ingredients list and details. It was vaguely fruity and kind of like Nerds, though not as tangy. It seriously tastes like the same kind of candy so many of these little toys came with back in the late 1980s when I remember them always sitting at the register at KB Toys.

You know what? I really, really like this little guy (and not just because he was a gift from my mom). This is just a very cool Michael Myers figurine. He's simple in some ways, sure, but he's a great take on a classic Michael Myers. The mask looks pretty good, too. It feels like Michael Myers' mask is something that's really tough to get right but I think CandyRific did a pretty nice job with this guy, especially considering the style. And being able to open his head? That's just really amusing to me. This is a Great and a 1/2 little trinket that you might want to track down if you're a huge Halloween fan. Now, speaking of Halloween (the holiday, not the movie), check back tomorrow for a special Re-Halloween treat: Another Michael Myers review!
