The Curse of 31 Days of Toy Terror: Zatanna from DC Comics Lil Bombshells by Cryptozoic Entertainment

For day 24 of The Curse of 31 Days of Toy Terror we're revisiting Zatanna again! We looked at her traditional Bombshells statue earlier this month but now I'm checking out the DC Comics Lil Bombshells version. I reviewed the other figures in this series over the past month or so but I decided to save this one for some point during the Halloween season. I figured we could all use a break from the sheer terror that runs rampant during The Curse of 31 Days of Toy Terror to enjoy a magic show from a lovely and talented performer. Let's take a look at this very cool Bombshells Zatanna after the break...

The Facts:

Height: 2 7/8ths inches

Articulation: None

Accessories: Tin storage container

Designed by: Pedro Astudillo

Sculpted by: Sam Greenwell

Non-Scalper Price: $10 dollars

 * I love Zatanna's Bombshells design. It doesn't look too far off from her traditional outfit but it definitely has a much more old school pin-up vibe to it. The headsculpt is incredible, as is the pose; I love Zatanna holding up her wand!

 * The pose really makes this one work. I also love the detail on her costume. Cryptozoic Entertainment's designer Pedro Astudillo and sculptor Sam Greenwell did an excellent job at capturing the fine details of a classic, multi-part stage outfit.

* I'll give the same spiel about the price and the container that I gave with earlier figures in this line: I don't usually talk much about price but l feel the need to mention that for around $10, these seem a couple of dollars too high for a blind-bagged series. Well, blind canned. Yeah, these actually come in little tins with removable lids. It's a cool gimmick although I imagine it's what is adding the extra few bucks to the line. The tin is quite nice, though, and looks good on display with the figure. There's even a checklist on the back.

I love the DC Comics Little Bombshells series and Zatanna is another of my favorites from series 2. Whether you are a fan of the character, a DC Bombshells fan, or just dig cool minifigures you'll probably like this. She's a fun addition to a DC Comics shelf or even a shelf of magic based figures. Does anyone have a shelf like that, by the way? That would be cool to see! This is a Great and a 1/2 minifigure and a another fitting tribute to the magical side of Halloween!

The only other Zatanna collectible I've reviewed on the site so far is the Kotobukiya Bishoujo Zatanna.
