Can you believe that Valaverse's Action Force line has already reach it's 100th figure? To mark that special occasion Valaverse released a second version of The Bone Collector, one of the most popular Action Force figures. I reviewed the original figure back in early 2022 and I believe he was the first of the Action Force figures that I reviewed. There is a random bloody variant of this guy that was offered but he was limited to 100 pieces, so pretty tough to get ahold of. I received this version of The Bone Collector for my birthday just a little under two months ago, so you can tell there's been a lot of cool stuff coming out that's distracted me. Ready to check out The Bone Collector V2? Then join me after the break...

Comparison:
* Here'sa quick shot of both versions of The Bone Collector. V2 is on the left while the original release is on the right. Different portraits, different color schemes, different helmets, different armor, different weapons; heck, even different boots. These guys really do feel like different figures and not just a simple repaint or color swap. There's a lot of newness here to make this guy stand out.
The Positives:
* While the former version of Bone Collector was wearing more of a traditional military outfit (long sleeves, a heavy flak jacket of sorts), this version is a bit more fantastical. The Bone Collector is sporting a maroon, black, and silver color scheme with urban camo pants. The armored plates are quite neat with a good bit of sculpted detail and the logo of the Garrison on his left breast. The forearm armor is pretty neat, too, and feels like it goes with the Garrison's theme of using elements of medieval armor and warfare.
* Like most Action Force figures, Bone Collector's armor is removable. The vest can be taken off and put back on with ease, which is a huge improvement over the earlier figures in the line. The forearm armor comes off as well. The Bone Collector is clad in a red and black sleeveless shirt with a couple different textures and a black and maroon color scheme. It's much cooler than just having a blank body underneath and looks fine on its own if you want a different look or want to gear him up differently.
* The Action Force figures are all built pretty much the same, so the articulation doesn't very much between them. The joints and range of motion are excellent and everything worked just fine and moved easily right out of the package. These are sturdy, well made made action figures that are a lot of fun to pose and mess around with and this guy looks good wielding his minigun or swinging his machete. He's a lot of fun to mess around with and put into various battle poses.
* The standard eight gloved hands as most other figures have are included here, too. The pegs are really thick and sturdy and swap in and out very easily. There's a pair of pair of pistol grips, a pair of fists, a pair of standard grips, and a pair of cradling hands for holding rifles or other two-handed weapons.
* The Bone Collector's main weapon this time around is a minigun designed to be carried rather than mounted on a vehicle. This thing is very cool and looks like a nice piece of equipment and very similar to the weapon depicted in films like Predator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, The Expendables 3, and in so many videogames. The barrels do rotate and they get a gunmetal paint app on them.
* A drum magazine is included for holding a smaller ammo belt. There's even a small strip of cartridges that you can attach to the magazine and connect to the feeding port.
* A set of brass casings can be attached to the ejection port, showing them being "spit" out of the gun and falling to the ground. It's a really cool effect that helps to make your display of the Bone Collector look like a miniature diorama caught in a moment in time.
* There is also a ammo box backpack with a connecting ammo belt for feeding the gun. The backpack has the Garrison's symbol on it and the ammo feeding belt is flexible.
* A heavy firing effect is included that can be plugged into any of the minigun's six barrels. It's a pretty nice looking firing effect and, coupled with the ejected casings, really sells the effect. The pin you use to attach this effect into the weapon's barrel is very thin, so do exercise caution attaching it.
* If anyone is still standing after he rolls through all of his ammo, Bone Collector comes with a machete.
* There is a slit on the side of the ammo box backpack where the machete can slip inside for storage, allowing The Bone Collector to carry all of his gear at once.
* I'm a huge proponent of action figures coming with display bases and Action Force's might be the best out there on the market. The metal texture of the display stand is fantastic and The Bone Collector's is black instead of the usual gunmetal grey. There are four pegs on the base, making it extra versatile. See that little slit at the back? If you want to cut out the file card from Bone Collector's package you can even display it behind him.
The Negatives:
* The ammo belt that runs from the minigun to the backpack does come loose pretty easily. Not so much when you have it on display, but when you're posing it and messing around with it, it's likely going to detach.
* That's not a tattoo on The Bone Collector's left forearm. It's some paint slop, or maybe a bit of rub off from his armor.
I'm glad The Bone Collector made a return to the line. He's an interesting looking character and the minigun is a really neat and complex accessory. The additional effects like the stream of brass and the firing effect on the rotating battel definitely add a nice bit of wow to the set (if you really just want the minigun, it is available in Weapons Pack Golf). There's very little, if anything, the same between this new figure and the original, so you don't feel like you're just double dipping here. I'm a bit selective of which Action Force figures I pick up but this one made the list. He's a Great and a 1/2 figure and I imagine the standard version of The Bone Collector v2 will get restocked in the future.
