Trick or Treat Through 31 Days of Toy Terror: "The Bride of Frankenstein" '40 Ford from Hot Wheels Silver Series: Universal Monsters by Mattel

Ready for another Universal Monsters themed Hot Wheels car? Today I'm checking out the last of the cars from this series that I'll probably be reviewing this year: The Bride of Frankenstein's '40 Ford. This is a very classy coupe and it looks perfect for the Bride to cruise around in. Likely on a moonlit night without any lightning, though, as the roof is down on this one. Ready to check out the classiest car in this series? Then join me after the break...

The Facts:

Length: 3 inches

Non-Scalper Price: $3-$4 dollars

The Packaging:

* Here's a shot of the packaging for this model before I tore it open. I love seeing the classic Universal Monsters in any form back on toy shelves!

The Positives:

* This '40 Ford coupe is a gorgeous car. I love how classic and elegant it is, and it's definitely enhanced by the white body with black and purple highlights. This thing is just son incredibly classy!

* Here's a close-up of the side so you can admire those beautiful shiny purple hubcaps and the metallic silver paint flashes above the wheels. The black flowing paintjob evokes both lightning and hair, feeling reminiscent of the Bride's iconic hair while not directly copying it. "The Bride of Frankenstein" is also stamped on the side, letting you know who's driving this classic.

* The Bride herself is painted on the hood, flanked by a pair of purple lightning bolts. It's a nice, clean print and it looks really nice. The front of the car also has painted headlights and a subtle silver design along the front bumper.

* That silver detailing is continued around the back, as are the metallic purple paint elements. I'm also a huge fan of the "She's Alive!" written across the back. It's a cool nod to the character and just seems like something fitting for a vehicle dedicated to the character.

* Obviously it's nothing new to this version of the '40 Ford but the inside of the car is quite nice for such a small vehicle. There's plenty of room for the Bride, Countess Zaleska, Paula Dupree, and Kitty Carroll to go on a road trip!

This is definitely my favorite of this series of vehicles as it's just so classy and well designed. It's a Great and a 1/2 car with fantastic paintwork and a cool concept. I'd love to find some tiny little Universal Monsters microfigures to stand next to these but I'm not aware of any. Still, these will look great in my collection and this one might be the best of the bunch. I'm still hunting for Dracula's but, looking at pictures of it, I'm not as wild about it as I am about this one. It'd be great to get a second series with cars for, say, the Invisible Man, the Phantom, the Creature, the Metaluna Mutant, and maybe a Mole Person.
