While there are plenty of more traditional girls toys and dolls that still have what we'd call accessory packs (Barbie outfits, sets of doll furniture, etc.) on retail shelves, more traditional boys toys and mass market action figures really don't get accessory packs anymore. If it's not an action figure or a vehicle (and usually even a vehicle has to be packaged with an action figure), it's not getting released. The only ones I can think of seeing at mainstream retail are some of the NECA Universal Monsters accessory sets. When it comes to lines that aren't sold at traditional retail, however, you're likely to see more accessory packs to supplement the line. Four Horsemen Studios has lone done accessory packs for Mythic Legions and Cosmic Legions comprised of additional weapons, hands, armor, wings, spells, and other traditional accessories but this is the first time I can recall them doing an accessory pack that features pieces for making a small diorama. OxKrewe- Book One: Thraxxon is the most recent full series of Cosmic Legions releases and while I only picked up one figure from the set so far (Kurnn Ray), I had to grab this incredibly cool accessory set when I first saw it. The OxKrewe Campside Collection is an accessory set comprised of two crates, a generator, a portable computer, and various cords for connecting them together. Whether or not you collect Cosmic Legions, this might be worth your attention at these accessories could nicely compliment many different 1/12th scale toylines. Ready to check out some really nicely designed and beautifully well worn pieces of sci-fi equipment? Then join me after the break...

The Positives:
* The items in this set are the pieces of equipment used by the OxKrewe, a salvage crew who has crashed on the planet Thraxxon, to serve as their campsite. First up is a large yellow and black storage container. It measures around 3.5" x 2.25" x 2.75" and is a pretty chunk crate. It definitely looks like it's made out of some sort of metal and it's impressive how many unique paint applications are on this crate; it's covered with scratches that show the shiny metal underneath the paint.
* That "not just fresh off the assembly line" appearance really gives it that grounded, real world feel that makes this feel like it could easily fit in a Star Wars: The Black Series display, or maybe as an equipment storage container for AIM or the Swarm. Both sides of the crate have an interesting device that makes it seem like it could be climate controlled, whether for preserving food or keeping delicate salvaged equipment at a specific temperature.
* The top of the container opens up to allow for storage. The smaller crate in the set will actually fit inside as will the portable computer. The storage area is around 3.15" x 1.25" and most rifles from lines like Action Force and the G.I. Joe: Classified Series do fit inside if you're looking to use this as a weapons cache.
* The smaller crate isn't as interesting looking as it's mostly just grayish-white. It does have all of the scrapes and dings you'd expect, though, so it's clearly seen some heavy use. It's around 2" x 1.75" x 1.87" and feels like a pretty hefty little carrying crate.
* Like the larger crate, the smaller crate also has some equipment on both sides that makes it appear like it could be temperature controlled. There is a port in the center of both ends that can utilize the included hoses, allowing you to connect the crates to the generator or the computer. Heck, maybe you could connect this crate to the portable computer, meaning this is some sort of analyzer?
* The crate opens up easily and can carry smaller 1/12th scaled accessories like pistols, SMGs, explosives, or other bits of gear. The storage area measures about 1.75" x 1.4".
* Having just come through an ice storm in the south, it seems like everyone was out looking for a generator. This one doesn't really function or anything but it sure looks like it might. The generator is a separate piece with a handle and the whole thing fits on this trolley so it can easily be moved around camp. This is incredibly impressive! Everything received a paint hit: The screws, the buttons, the knobs, the scratches and scuffs, even some grease, oil, and rust stains. The level of detail is unreal.
* Here's a closeup so you can admire all of the buttons and the screen. I've seen folks on the various Cosmic Legions groups (The Cosmic Cabal represent!) and it seems like folks have translated the computer screen from the portable computer but I haven't seen anyone translate this yet (there is a codex but my eyes aren't what they used to be and I can't see this well enough. Still, it's clearly printed on there and looks incredible for a printed detail.
* Here's the back of the generator. This definitely looks like some equipment that was just crammed away somewhere onboard the Qorgonox spaceship and only pulled out in case of emergencies. Well, now it's an emergency. I imagine someone had to kick this thing and hit it with a wrench to get it to work. There are three ports in the back to connect the cables to so you can hook everything up to the generator.
* Check out those tires! Not only do they look suitably worn but A. They really rotate, and B. They're coated with the sand and dust from Thraxxon's surface.
* The generator is removable and is a really cool looking piece. Check this thing out! What action figure line wouldn't be improved by a 1/12th scale generator?
* The fourth and final piece is the portable computer. I like that while Cosmic Legions has things like thruster boots, deep space travel, and holographic projectors, it also uses technology that somehow feels older than ours. Kind of like Star Wars, really. Or Star Trek: The Original Series. This is a portable computer that looks like it weighs as much as something like an Apple IIe. Heck, it's even beige, too. Remember when computers were all beige or grey? I do.
* The computer has a flip down keyboard that also protects the screen. This is really cool looking and I guarantee this thing would play some version of the Oregon Trail with ease. Appparently, according to a member of The Cosmic Cabal, this says:

"CAPTAIN’S LOG – OMNI-M1 GO
* That keyboard is probably the best keyboard I've ever scene on a 1/12th scale accessory. The keys look like they've been worn irregularly there's even a trackball like device on the right and a nine key pad (presumably a numerical pad, I guess?).
* The computer has a swiveling antenna, a hinged handle for toting it around, and a port for connecting it to the generator. Or whatever else you want to connect it to.
* Four cables are included, two shorter and two longer, which can connect everything together. Want to attach everything to the generator? Easy peasy. Want to connect the storage crates to one another? You can do it. There's a good amount of freedom here and I'm interested to see how other collectors use these in their dioramas.
This is an incredible set. At first you might ask "Why is an accessory set $35 dollars?" but when you have these in hand you'll be impressed by the quality. Not just the construction or the sculpt but also by the intricate painted details. I'm pretty confident that each of the four (or five if you count the generator and it's trolley as separate pieces) has more unique paint applications than most mass market action figures. Stuff like that adds up, hence why we see companies frequently slash paint applications as cost saving measures. This set goes all out, though, and you won't be disappointed by anything here. There is another set coming out that has just the crates (the smaller one is green, the larger still looks to be yellow) with some smaller accessories, but I find the generator and the computer to be the most impressive accessories in the set. This is an Epic piece that really should liven up your displays and seems like it'll be a ton of fun to mess around with. Having stuff like this in a toyline as a kid was just really fun and made for so many play opportunities and it's cool to see the Four Horsemen really put some effort into this release.
