🔥Hot Toy Summer!🔥 Flareon from An Afternoon with Eevee & Friends by Funko

 

   

We've got another installment of 🔥Hot Toy Summer!🔥 today and this time we're checking out the hottest of them all: Flareon! Flareon is a fire type Pokémon with an average body temperature of between 1,300 to 1,500 degrees Fahrenheit who can exhale fire at around 3,100 degrees Fahrenheit. Yikes! That's insane. If you're a regular reader, you probably know that my daughter Adora is obsessed with Eevee and all of the Eeveelutions, so this is a piece from her collection. Flareon is part of a Funko set of Eeveelutions called My Afternoon with Eevee & Friends. This figure was released in 2020 and is part of a set of nine mini-statues that can all be displayed next to each other to form one scene. Adora received a number of pieces from this set as Christmas presents last year and when I was looking for another toy to celebrate the heat of summer, Flareon jumped out at me. Since she's been quite little, my daughter has insisted that all of her Eevees and Eeveelutions are girls except for Umbreons (who are boys), so let's check out another lady who is out enjoying the summer heat after the break...

The Positives:

* These are miniature statues with a little bit of a diorama-like base for them to stand on. The Flareon figure isn't removable, so they're just for display. I personally really like the concept and the execution. Flareon's adorable and the idea of all the Eevees just hanging around and doing fun stuff using their powers is just charming. I can absolutely see why my daughter is still obsessed with Eevees!

* Here's Flareon! I love Flareon's design and colors. She's nice and bright with fantastic design. She looks a bit like she's in a battle pose but really she's using her flame abilities to cook some yummy fruits and vegetables. 

* Flareon has a really floofy tail! Look at how fluffy it is! It's kind of like a big ball of fire, except it's soft. 

* Flareon is pretty cute. She's currently blowing out some super hot air to showcase her culinary abilities. She's also sporting her adorable blonde pompadour and very cool, unusually shaped ears. 

* There are two little fruits here surrounded by a swirl of flame. They're pretty neat and quite small. I wonder what they are? The red one looks like a rambutan. Is the yellow one just a lemon? These cool little touches remind me of the things you'd see Pokémon doing in the wild in the Pokémon Snap games.  

* One side of the base is covered with grass, a few rocks, and some pretty pink flowers. Who wouldn't want to chill out in a natural paradise with the Eevees?

* The other side is a bit rockier with dirt and stones. I like the variations in the base and how it's really part of the display, too, not just a plain base.

   This is a really cool little statue, especially considering the price at $15 bucks originally. Heck, the Pokémon Center website still has this and a few others on sale (now for $9.99). It's adorable, well made, and presents Flareon in a cute and fun scenario that fits the whimsical of the set. I know my daughter would totally love to live in a land where Pokémon jus roamed around. Red and Blue didn't come out until I was in high school but, dang, I liked Pokémon quite a bit then and wished I'd had it when I was a kid. I'm glad she does! Flareon is an Epic little collectible that brings the heat!
