The ABCs of 31 Days of Toy Terror: U is for Umbreon from Pokemon: Let's Go Eevee Evolution Series by Funism

For today's installment of the ABC's 31 Days of Toy Terror we have a guest from my daughter Adora's Pokemon collection: Umbreon from the Let's Go Eevee Evolution Series by Funism. This is a blind boxed import set of all nine forms of Eevee (so Eevee and the eight Eeeveelutions) featuring nine different minifigures, each with their own unique decorative display base and a foil card. By purchasing a case we ended up with the full set and Adora got these at the end of the school year back in late May. They're a really nice set of decorative figures and since Umbreon is my favorite of the Eeveelutions, fits the Halloween theme, and helped me cover the letter U, I decided he'd make a great review. For my daughter's Eevees, all of the Eevees and Eeveelutions are girls expect for the Umbreons, which are all boys. Let's take a look at this very cool Umbreon after the break...

The Facts:

Height: 2 1/4ths

Articulation: None

Accessories: 2 piece display stand and card.

Non-Scalper Price: $16-$18 dollars

The Positives:

* Umbreon is a decent sized painted minifigure. At around 2 1/4 inches tall and fully painted, he's a cute little guy with a lot of presence on the shelf. The sculpt is excellent and captures the look of Umbreon perfectly as he's sleek and mysterious looking.

* I love Umbreon's red eyes. They're kind of spooky, yeah, but then again, Umbreon is just so adorable that you aren't really afraid of him. In real life, an Umbreon would be around 60 pounds and stand a little over 3 feet tall.

* Umbreons have these little patterns on their fur which glow and collect energy from the moonlight. They can then use that energy at night or whenever they are excited to scare away bystanders. Yellow paint on black is sometimes a mess. but Umbreon looks super neat and clean and the yellow patterns in his fur stand out beautifully.

* Umbreon's display stand is really nice and Umbreon sits on it just fine. There isn't a peg or anything; he just sits on it, but there's really no risk of him falling over.

* The base is very cute with a Pokeball design on the base, some streams of magic and starts flowing out of the base, and a window-like backdrop with a moon and clouds.

* The backdrop has Umbreon's name and the symbol for the Dark type Pokemon. I love the translucent moon and the clouds attached to the side of the window-like backdrop. Umbreon is a moonlight Pokemon, after all. My daughter has been rearranging her display of Eevees, so I'm excited to see what the final display will look like.

* Here's a shot of the cool wisps of magic floating up from the base. The little stars mixed in their are very cool and fit Umbreon's vibe.

* There's also a cool foil card included showing Umbreon. The back has some facts about the Pokemon, but take note that they are written in Japanese.

I'm really loving this Umbreon set. This is a Great little set featuring one of my favorite Pokemon and I'm glad that I was able to get Adora the full set of these. They're just so cute and they diorama-like bases really make them stand out. As a standard figure, Umbreon is not too much different from the Jazwares Pokemon you'll find at regular retail but the display base is really nicely done. Plus, being that these are imports, there is just something extra cool about them. This is a Great 1/2 set and a really fun little guy. I don't find Umbreon to be scary at all, but he definitely has the feel of an October night, doesn't he?
