BTW, have you seen Civil War yet? Spiderman has a great line in the film that made me think of this conversation about Star Wars and age!Barbecue17https://www.blogger.com/profile/11169946891265569135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438156728877167677.post-68173690464357312822016-05-05T00:16:54.682-04:002016-05-05T00:16:54.682-04:00I saw the fist movie in the theater in 1978 right ...I saw the fist movie in the theater in 1978 right after I turned 6. I hardly remember going, I have a much better memory of seeing the empire strikes back and it feels like yesterday I saw Return of the Jedi. Its crazy to see the price on some of the figures that I remember looking at on the store shelves.Brothermidnighthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00436018846342206495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438156728877167677.post-34903214119812366802016-05-04T20:05:30.807-04:002016-05-04T20:05:30.807-04:00We feel even older. Some of the books got sold or traded away (to be replaced by dozens of others- I read EVERYTHING in the New Canon) and the poster disappeared along the way. Heck, my 2 year old owns more Star Wars stuff now than I did in that picture!Barbecue17https://www.blogger.com/profile/11169946891265569135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438156728877167677.post-29159387956225690322016-05-04T18:11:42.630-04:002016-05-04T18:11:42.630-04:00Yup, I'm a second generation Star Wars fan I g...Yup, I'm a second generation Star Wars fan I guess. I became a fan due to the movie adaptations I read in 6th grade, so I was a fan before the prequels. Heck, I was a fan before Shadows of the Empire was released. I wonder if anyone has classified generations of Star Wars fans and how they're different? I feel like for those of us who became fans after the films were released but before the prequels and SOTE, the vintage figures hold a mysterious, magical quality, the early Expanded Universe tends to be a really big deal, and all of the guidebooks and obscure character names tend to be significant. Of course, the importance of POTF2, Micro Machines, and even the bendable figures cannot be overstated!Barbecue17https://www.blogger.com/profile/11169946891265569135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438156728877167677.post-89374212129009955892016-05-04T17:09:26.911-04:002016-05-04T17:09:26.911-04:00I was pushing 20!Sorry ,didn't mean to make yo...I was pushing 20!Sorry ,didn't mean to make you feel old again, lol!I'm not too far behind, anyway.Love that pic Barbecue!Man,that collection would have kept me locked away in my room for hours at at a time.
