He's a cool figure and was the only other Spawn: The Movie figure I owned as a kid besides this standard Spawn.

Total Chaos has one series in 1996 and a second in 1997, the year the movie came out. It was an unusual line that wasn't based on the Spawn comic or characters for the most part; just a chance for Mcfarlane's sculptors and designers to go wild (AKA the Four Horsemen early on). They did make that Al Simmons, though, as well as a variant in red armor which is much lighter skinned, possibly Caucasian. That was an odd one. That was a rare one here.

By the way, didn't this line of Spawn figures come out the same year as the movie line?
https://www.etsy.com/fi-en/listing/929005817/vintage-1996-mcfarlane-al-simmons-totalWayward Knavenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438156728877167677.post-39643065080148393782022-07-17T23:20:39.046-04:002022-07-17T23:20:39.046-04:00For the movie line there was this figure, both wit...For the movie line there was this figure, both with and without spikes and with or without a mask, a burnt Spawn, and a deluxe Attack Spawn who was masked. These were really reasonably priced at the time and were released as a standard retail line, plus extra parts just weren't usually a thing at the time. There wasn't a Commando Spawn figure released for the movie; the one from this review was heavily armed, though. There was an Al Simmons but he was unmasked (in the movie he wore a balaclava over his head in some scenes in his commando gear).Barbecue17https://www.blogger.com/profile/11169946891265569135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8438156728877167677.post-58666732394278457142022-07-15T04:36:15.756-04:002022-07-15T04:36:15.756-04:00If I'm not much mistaken, the only thing that ...If I'm not much mistaken, the only thing that kept me from buying the original Movie Commando Spawn was that it didn't have a masked head. And as the Review Spot likes to say, McFarlane should include both masked and unmasked heads for figures like these. Wayward Knavenoreply@blogger.com
